Enjoy making a puppet talk and how to use puppets in simple stories. Try out your own slapstick routines and develop confidence in script writing and performance.

Maskmaking workshop

Learn to design and make a mask from a range of different materials. For a complete beginner to students with advanced making skills.
Mark Pitman studied mask making with Donato Santori, Italy and teaches carving and leather mask-making techniques to create comedia masks.

What happens when you are wearing a mask?
What effect does it have on the performer?
How does a performer discover and play the mask?

Develop movement skills to study body language and physical characterisation, and learn how to play the mask and the counter mask. With the face hidden the performer is free to communicate through the body and movement.
